Veterinary Student Rescue Advocate & Wildlife Medicine
I’m a clinical veterinary student at St. George's University, currently completing my final-year clinical rotations at Mississippi State University while pursuing my lifelong passion of becoming a veterinarian.
This website reflects both my journey through veterinary school and my ongoing dedication to helping animals in need. During my time in Grenada, when I wasn’t in class or studying, I devoted much of my free time to rescuing, treating, and advocating for stray and abandoned dogs across the island.
As a board member of the Grenada GSPCA, I worked closely with the veterinary team to provide medical care, support, and second chances for neglected animals who deserved a better future.
This website also highlights the veterinary experiences that have shaped me around the world. I have traveled to Guatemala and Costa Rica to help provide veterinary care to animals in underserved communities, and to Africa, where I worked alongside wildlife veterinarians caring for species such as rhinos, lions, cheetahs, zebras, and elephants. These experiences have strengthened my passion for veterinary medicine while allowing me to learn from different cultures, environments, and approaches to animal care.
Through these pages, you’ll meet incredible dogs who have already found loving homes, others currently receiving treatment, and many still waiting for the care, safety, and compassion they deserve.
More than anything, this website represents my love for animals, my passion for rescue work, and my continued dedication to a career devoted to improving the lives of animals around the world.

About Me
Meet me...
I’m Kaleigh, also known as “Dr. Who’s Handsome,” a veterinary student with a deep passion for animal rescue, wildlife medicine, and global veterinary care. I earned the nickname because every dog I meet is just so handsome, and I can’t help but greet them with a cheerful “Whooo’s handsome?” It’s my way of spreading a little joy and showing love to every dog I encounter.
I share my life with two incredible rescue dogs: Charlie, a rescue from South Carolina, and Birdie, whom I adopted during veterinary school while living in Grenada.
Traveling and learning about veterinary medicine around the world is something I truly love. I’ve traveled to Guatemala and Costa Rica, where I helped provide free veterinary care, including vaccines and contraception, to cats and dogs in underserved communities. I’ve also had the privilege of working with elephants in Thailand who suffered years of abuse from tourism and log pulling, helping care for them as they recovered in a sanctuary environment.
Most recently, I returned from South Africa, where I worked alongside wildlife veterinarians caring for species such as cheetahs, lions, zebras, and white rhinos. During this experience, I assisted with procedures including castrations, vaccinations, translocations, and implanting tracking devices to support wildlife conservation efforts.
Through these experiences, I continue to grow both professionally and personally while staying committed to making a meaningful impact on the lives of animals around the world.
